Ceramic coating Mobile, St. Augustine

A layer that sheds the coast.

A ceramic coating is a liquid layer that bonds to your clear coat and cures hard.

Once it sets, water beads and runs off, and dirt has a harder time holding on.

That matters here, where salt air off the Matanzas and the beach settles on every car parked outside.

A coated car rinses clean faster, holds its gloss longer and is easier to keep up between details.

It is not armor: rock chips and deep scratches still happen.

What it does is make the good finish you have easier to keep.

Most coatings go on right after a paint correction, so the gloss you lock in is the best the paint can give. Paint Correction

Ceramic Coating What is included

What the visit covers.

  1. A full hand wash first

The paint gets washed and dried by hand, so nothing is sealed in under the coating.

  2. Decontamination

Bonded grime the wash leaves behind comes off the paint before any coating goes on.

  3. Paint check in good light

We look at the finish with you. If swirls need polishing out first, we say so before we start.

  4. Panel-by-panel application

The coating goes on one section at a time, leveled and wiped so it cures even and streak-free.

  5. Wheels and glass, on request

Ask about coating the wheel faces and exterior glass while the car is already being done.

  6. Care tips at hand-off

Before we leave you get plain directions for the first washes, so the coating can settle in.

The reflection test Correction // Coating

Read the skyline in your paint.

A coating keeps the reflection sharp and makes water bead and run. Tap through the three passes.

The reflection test An illustration of the St. Augustine skyline at dusk, with the fort, the old city towers, the Bridge of Lions and the lighthouse, reflected in the black paint of a car hood. The reflection changes from blurred by swirl marks, to sharp after paint correction, to sharp with water beading after a ceramic coating.

How a visit works Four steps

From the first text to the walk-around.

  1. 1

    Call or text

Send the year, make and model, where it is parked and a photo of the paint if you can.

  2. 2

    We set a time

We pick a day and window that works, at home or at work. Covered parking helps, so mention it.

  3. 3

    Prep, then coat

Wash, decontaminate, check the finish, then the coating goes on panel by panel.

  4. 4

    Walk-around

We look the car over together before we pack up and go over how to care for it.

Is it right for you Honest answer

Best on paint worth keeping.

Coating is the right call on a new car, a car you plan to keep, or paint that has just been corrected.

If the finish is dull or swirled, the coating will lock that look in, so we may suggest paint correction first.

Not sure? Text a photo of the hood in daylight and we will tell you honestly what it needs.

On the coast

St. Augustine is hard on paint.

Salt rides in on the breeze, sand blows off the beach lots, and the sun bakes all year.

Then come lovebug seasons in spring and late summer, and the bugs etch the clear coat if they sit.

A coated surface lets most of that rinse away instead of bonding to the paint.

Questions Straight answers

Ceramic Coating questions.

Can you apply a ceramic coating at my house?

Yes. We are a mobile crew, so the work happens where the car is parked.

Shade or a garage helps the coating cure, so tell us what you have when you book.

Does a ceramic coating replace waxing?

It does the job wax does, and it holds up much longer than a wax.

You keep washing the car, but you can skip the regular waxing.

Will a coating hide scratches and swirls?

No. It adds gloss, but it seals in whatever is under it.

If the paint is swirled, paint correction before the coating gives the best result.

How should I wash the car after it is coated?

Gently, by hand, with a pH-neutral soap, and skip the brush car washes.

We go over the first few washes with you at hand-off.
