Paint correction Mobile, St. Augustine

Take the swirls out, not over.

Paint correction is machine polishing that levels the top of the clear coat to remove what dulls it.

It takes out swirl marks, haze, water spot etching and light scratches, and the color looks deeper again.

Most swirls come from washing: brush car washes, gritty towels and dry wipes leave fine lines that show in sunlight.

Every job starts with an inspection, so we know what the paint can take before any polishing begins.

Polishing removes a thin layer of clear coat, so we take only what the defects call for.

Deep scratches that cut through the clear coat cannot be polished out, and we will tell you which ones those are.

After correction, a ceramic coating or a wax keeps the finish slick and clean, so ask about adding one on the same visit. Ceramic Coating

Paint Correction What is included

What the visit covers.

  1. Paint inspection first

We go over each panel in good light and show you the swirls, haze and scratches before we polish.

  2. Wash and decontamination

The car is washed by hand and cleaned of bonded grime, so the polish works on bare paint.

  3. Machine polishing

Pads and compounds are matched to your paint, then worked panel by panel to level out the defects.

  4. A finer pass to finish

A softer polish follows the first pass to bring back the clarity and the depth of the color.

  5. Care at edges and trim

Door edges, body lines and emblems get a lighter hand, because the paint is thinnest there.

  6. Protection afterward

A wax or a ceramic coating can go on right after, so the corrected finish stays clean longer.

The reflection test Correction // Coating

Read the skyline in your paint.

Correction is what turns a soft, swirled reflection back into a sharp one. Tap through the three passes.

The reflection test An illustration of the St. Augustine skyline at dusk, with the fort, the old city towers, the Bridge of Lions and the lighthouse, reflected in the black paint of a car hood. The reflection changes from blurred by swirl marks, to sharp after paint correction, to sharp with water beading after a ceramic coating.

How a visit works Four steps

From the first text to the walk-around.

  1. 1

    Call or text

Send the year, make and model, where it is parked and a few photos of the paint in daylight.

  2. 2

    We inspect the paint

We look it over at your location and tell you what polishing can fix and what it cannot.

  3. 3

    Wash, then polish

Hand wash and decontamination first, then machine polishing panel by panel and a final wipe-down.

  4. 4

    Walk-around in daylight

We check the paint together in the sun and go over how to wash it without putting swirls back.

Is it right for you Honest answer

Right for paint gone dull.

Correction suits a car with swirls, haze or water spots, or one you want at its best before a coating or a sale.

If the paint looks thin or has been polished before, tell us and we will go easy on how much we take.

Not sure? Text a photo of the hood in daylight and we will tell you honestly what polishing can do.

On the coast

The sun is what dulls paint most here, and it works on the clear coat all year.

Brush car washes leave swirls, and beach sand that gets wiped across a panel leaves fine scratches of its own.

Lovebugs in spring and late summer and salt spray can etch the clear coat, and light etching can be polished out.

Questions Straight answers

Paint Correction questions.

Can you polish the paint at my house?

Yes. We are a mobile crew, so the work happens where the car is parked.

Shade or a garage helps, so tell us what you have when you book.

Will paint correction remove every scratch?

No. Swirls, haze and light scratches polish out.

A scratch you can feel with a fingernail may be too deep, and we will tell you honestly which ones are which.

Is correction the same as a wax or polish?

No. Wax sits on top and can hide swirls for a while.

Correction removes the defects themselves, and then a wax or coating protects the result.

Should I add a ceramic coating after?

It is a good match, because a coating on freshly corrected paint keeps that finish clean longer.

It is your call, and a wax works too.
